spiral wavy necklace - half done

Over the past few days I have sporadically been working on this necklace.
I knew when I was designing this piece that I wanted to it to be big and bold but somehow still retain an air of elegance.
I chose a large blue/green azurite disk bead as the focus for the necklace and designed swirls and spirals to fit round it. There are many colours in the piece but the blue/green colours dominate it. I have also got reds, oranges and yellows to compliment the blue tones and give it a more rainbow look.
I am trying to decide whether to oxidise the copper to make it go a black/brown colour or leave it to age naturally.
Also I am trying to think of the best kind of chain or cord to add to the necklace. I will give it some though over the course to today.
