About SpiralCraft Jewellery Welcome to Spiralcraft Jewellery
I aim to make unusual artisan jewellery that is distinctive and unique and differs from the normal mass produced pieces often found on the high street.
Ever since I was a child I have always been making and creating. In 2005 I graduated from a Fine Art degree where I experimented in many disiplines of art and specialised in painting. After leaving university I focused my attention to making jewellery after playing around with some materials I had in my studio.
I am mostly a self taught designer and maker and have developed a love of using wire to create unusual art pieces of jewellery.
The large majority of my designs are unique, and one of a kind which means that if you purchase a piece of jewellery from me you will be sure that nobody else will be wearing the same item as you. I always create pieces that I would wear, I love the feeling of someone wearing something that I had designed and created myself, it makes the process all very worthwhile!
All of my pieces are handmade and designed by me using simple hand tools and quality materials. I often make my own components, such as ear wires, clasps & chains out of copper or silver wire and sheet. I like to experiment with many techniques such as forging, soldering, stamping and texturing. My main love is wire wrapping and many of the pieces you will see on my website are made using this technique.
I am obsessed with anything that is rustic, woodsy, and whimsical. I am inspired by natural and organic shapes and often prefer asymmetry over symmetry. I incorporate these passions of mine into my designs, to create beautiful and unusual jewellery. My favourite materials are copper, sterling silver, semi precious stones, and quality glass and ceramic beads.
I have worked very hard to provide you with unique, quality pieces. However if you see something you like or you have any special requests, let me know. I would enjoy the chance to create something exceptional just for you.
All my pieces are handcrafted in my studio in Cardiff, Wales.
